• Guardian angel lines: These lines begin on the life line and extend downward. It’s believed that they represent relatives or close friends lost at a specific age.

• Rising lines: if there are lines rising from the life line, see where they end, as this shows your efforts to achieve success in a particular area. For example, a rising line that finishes on the mount of Saturn, below the middle finger, shows a striving toward greater social responsibility.

• Double life line: This is a fainter line that runs alongside the life line and shows protection from life’s difficulties. Some palmists also read the double line as a sign of prosperity and happiness.

The curve of the life line: The bigger the curve, the more generous the person is, and the more energy they have for other people. A slight curve or virtually straight life line running across the mount of Venus suggests a focus on the self.

The angle of the life line and head line: Cup your hand a little to see if the life line touches the head line. If it touches, this means prosperity. If the lines do not touch, look at the angle they make. The sharper the angle, the greater the luck.

Look on both hands for this: Some people have a life and head line that are apart on their left hand but have a touching life and head line on their right hand, showing that they have taken their destiny into their own hands, perhaps maximizing opportunities for wealth or becoming otherwise connected to it, such as through family or a partner.

You can also look at the point at which the head line and life line separate, as this reveals the age at which you gained independence as an adult.
